Somatic Bodywork & Dearmouring Training

Join us for a five-day immersive training developed for existing or new somatic practitioners. This soft and slow approach works gently with body armour. Focusing somatic bodywork and gentle dearmouring, using breath awareness, conscious touch, and somatic regulation techniques to ensure safety when working with clients. Each day will concentrate on one or two segments of the body to provide a comprehensive and transformative experience.

Body-armour refers to chronic muscle tension and physical contractions that develop in the body as a defense mechanism against stress, trauma, and emotional pain. This tension can become ingrained, limiting movement, and impacting overall well-being. Over time, it can lead to physical and emotional blockages, preventing the natural flow of energy and inhibiting one’s ability to fully experience emotions and sensations. Techniques like somatic bodywork and dearmouring aim to release this tension, facilitating emotional release and healing.

What you’ll learn:

  • The different levels of touch and how to establish resonance with clients.

  • Techniques for releasing stored tension in the body – trigger points, myofascial stretching and slow bodywork.

  • How to use different techniques to help establish safety, such as resourcing, pendulation, titration and work with the felt sense.

  • How to use somatic inquiry to help clients go even deeper into their somatic experience.
